These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at bookburglar.com (the "Service"), operated by BookBurglar ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

BookBurglar is a book search and price comparison tool. It allows users to search for books by title, author, or ISBN, and view links to purchase those books from third-party online booksellers. The Service aggregates book metadata from publicly available sources (including Open Library and Google Books) and provides outbound links to independent sellers.

BookBurglar is a discovery and referral tool only. We do not sell books, process payments, hold inventory, fulfill orders, or act as a party to any transaction between you and a seller.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Affiliate Relationships

BookBurglar participates in affiliate advertising programs. When you click a seller link on our site and subsequently make a purchase, we may receive a commission from the seller. This commission is paid by the seller and does not increase the price you pay.

We are a participant in, or applicant to, affiliate programs operated by sellers including but not limited to AbeBooks, Biblio, ThriftBooks, BetterWorldBooks, Amazon.com (Amazon Associates), and Powell's Books. Each of these programs is governed by the respective seller's affiliate program terms.

Our inclusion of a seller link does not constitute an endorsement of any specific seller, listing, product condition claim, or seller representation. We do not verify the accuracy of individual seller listings, condition descriptions, pricing, or availability.

4. Third-Party Sites and Transactions

The Service contains links to third-party websites, including bookseller sites. When you click such a link, you leave the BookBurglar Service and are subject to the terms and privacy policies of the destination site.

We are not responsible for:

The accuracy of seller listings, including condition descriptions, pricing, availability, or shipping estimates
The quality, authenticity, or condition of any books purchased from third-party sellers
Any transaction, dispute, or communication between you and a seller
Any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information provided by a third-party seller
The content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party website

All disputes regarding purchases must be resolved directly between you and the seller. We have no role in and accept no liability for any such transaction.

5. Accuracy of Information

Book metadata displayed on this Service (including titles, author names, publication dates, ISBNs, and cover images) is sourced from third-party databases including Open Library and Google Books. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or currency of this information.

Price information, where displayed, is indicative only and may not reflect current seller pricing. Always verify pricing and availability on the seller's website before making a purchase decision.

6. Intellectual Property

The BookBurglar name, logo, design, and original content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks, service marks, or branding without our prior written consent.

Book metadata (titles, author names, ISBNs, descriptions) displayed on this Service is sourced from third-party providers and is subject to their respective terms. Cover images are provided by Open Library and Google Books under their respective licenses. We make no claim of ownership over such third-party content.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any license to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Service without our express written consent.

7. Permitted Use

You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes to search for books and compare prices. You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from the Service using automated tools
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL BOOKBURGLAR, ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the claim (which, as the Service is free, would be zero), or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00).

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under or related to these Terms shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction located in the United States.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
